Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how DiceShare works.
Joining & Paying
How does a group order work? +
A host creates a group order for a bulk purchase and sets a minimum number of shares needed. Buyers join by reserving shares and sending payment. Once the minimum is met and the order closes, the host purchases the items and arranges a community pickup.
How do I pay for my share? +
After joining an order, you'll send an Interac e-Transfer to the payment address shown in the app. Our team confirms your payment manually, usually within 4 hours during business hours. Your spot is secured once confirmed.
How long does payment confirmation take? +
Payments are confirmed within 4 hours during business hours (Mon–Sat, 9 AM – 6 PM CT). You'll receive a notification once confirmed. If your payment isn't confirmed after 24 hours, contact support.
What if the minimum number of shares isn't reached? +
If an order closes without reaching the minimum, it will be cancelled. If you already sent payment, you'll receive a full refund via Interac e-Transfer within 1–5 business days.
Can I cancel after joining an order? +
You may be able to cancel before the host starts purchasing. Contact support as soon as possible. Once the host starts purchasing, cancellations aren't guaranteed and refunds depend on the circumstances.
Pickup
How do I collect my order at pickup? +
When pickup opens, you'll get a notification. Open the order in the app, tap your Pickup Pass, and show the QR code to the host. They'll scan it to confirm your collection.
What is a Pickup Pass? +
A Pickup Pass is your personal QR code for a specific group order. It's generated after your payment is confirmed and the order is ready for pickup. Show it to the host — do not share it with others.
What happens if I miss the pickup window? +
If you don't collect during the pickup window, your participation will be marked as no-show. No refund is issued for missed pickups. If you have an emergency, contact the host or support before the window closes.
How do I know when an order is ready for pickup? +
You'll receive a push notification when the host marks the order ready for pickup. You can also check the order status in the app at any time.
Hosting
Who can create a group order? +
We're gradually opening hosting to more communities. Any registered DiceShare user can apply to become a host. Hosts are responsible for coordinating the purchase, managing the pickup, and communicating updates to buyers.
What does a host name mean? +
DiceShare assigns you a host display name to protect your privacy and keep the marketplace fair. You choose a photo — we assign the name.
What am I responsible for as a host? +
As a host, you agree to purchase what you advertised, organize a pickup location and time, communicate any delays or changes to buyers, and treat buyers fairly and honestly.
